THE DAWNING OF THE THIRD DAY
Kings and Priests part 10
As the Church Age ends, those who long to function as kings and priests in the age to come must have two spiritual faculties sharpened to razor precision: discernment of spirits and prophetic understanding of the times.
This is clearly foreshadowed for us in 1 Chronicles 12:32
“And of the children of Issachar… were men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do...”
First, we must come into spiritual alignment concerning where the Church is in these last days. Some people preach Jesus can return at any moment because there are no more prophecies to fulfill. Some say He will come again once the Beast of Revelation is revealed and He will “rapture” the Church to heaven. Some are looking for external Temple signs such as Israel beginning to offer up red heifers as sacrifices once more. Those who are looking anywhere but to the Body of Christ are missing the spiritual timing. Most of us can agree that the Body of Christ is divided on timing and sequence because we’ve lost prophetic understanding of the times.
The Church at large is not in agreement about any of these things because the Leaders of The Church do not “understand the times”. Without this understanding, we cannot be like the sons of Issachar who “knew what Israel ought to do.
So, I want to lay out a few things for you to read and see if we can come into agreement concerning these last days. I hope to show you that the best way to understand the times is to look at the Body of Christ and see where it is in relation to Paul’s words in Ephesians 4:15-17 (KJV)
“But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: 16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.”
When we see these things happen, we will know we are at the moment of change.
Understanding the Third Day
From a prophetic rather than a strictly literal perspective, it seems that we are standing at coming to the conclusion of the Second Day and The Third Day will be dawning soon. Let’s look at some Scriptures to see what I mean.
2 Peter 3:8 (NLT)
“But you must not forget this one thing, dear friends: A day is like a thousand years to the Lord, and a thousand years is like a day.”
Ancient Jewish people believed that there are 6,000 years allotted to man. This comes their understanding of the 6 days of creation and the 1 day of rest in Genesis. (See Genesis 1:31 and 2:1-2) With a day being 1,000 years, we get 6,000 years and then 1,000 years of rest. This plainly points to the Millennial Reign of Jesus after He returns. We know that Jesus died and rose from the dead around the year 33AD. We are going to look at this prophetically as opposed to literally.
From Adam to Abraham is approximately 2,000 years.
From Isaac being offered as a sacrifice to Jesus dying on the Cross is roughly 2,000 years.
From the Descent of The Holy Ghost and the Birth of the Church until Jesus returns should therefore be approximately 2,000 years.
That leaves us with 1,000 years for the Millennium!
Remember, this is what we would call “Prophetic Time” and not “Calendar Time”. To be clear, I am not saying that there are just a few years before Jesus returns based on these things. But we are prophetically standing at the end of the second day and the threshold of the third. The Lord’s schedule is not like ours. His ways are above our ways.
And so, for these reasons and many more, there are those of us who sense that we are on the cusp of the transition from the second to the third day. So, what does that mean for us? Let’s see.
The Fivefold Ministry and the Third Day
Ephesians 4:11–16 (KJV (WS))
“And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: 13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: 14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; 15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: 16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.”
The Lord gave the Church its Ministers to bring it to Maturity. When we look at verse 13 we see that they will have a job UNTIL something happens… Until the Church comes into Mature Manhood reflecting the “full measure of Christ”.
There is a lot of work to do in a short period of time… The Fivefold Ministry has to get it together! It’s time to “equip the saints” and stop building their own kingdoms!
Everything points to the Third Day
The Prophets give us hints at what will happen.
Hosea 6:2(KJV)
“After two days he will revive us: in the third day he will raise us up...”
When Christians think of “Revival” they think of Church Meetings with guest Speakers, etc.
That is not what the Lord is talking about in this verse. He is talking about “reviving” the Church and bringing it back to the Early Church ways because in the Third Day He will raise us up!
The work will be complete
Luke 13:32
“And he said unto them, Go ye, and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out devils, and I do cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I shall be finished.”
“Today and tomorrow” are two days… and in “the Third Day” Jesus says His work will be finished. That work is the building up of the Body of Christ.
There will be a “Finishing” of the work of the Lord in the Third Day
Ezra 6:15 (KJV)
“And this house was finished on the third day of the month Adar, which was in the sixth year of the reign of Darius the king.”
This is so prophetic! The House of God back then was finished in the Third Day and this present day “House of God” will be finished in the Third Day too!
The End of the Old Order
2 Samuel 1:1-4
“Now it came to pass after the death of Saul, when David was returned from the slaughter of the Amalekites, and David had abode two days in Ziklag; It came even to pass on the third day, that, behold, a man came out of the camp from Saul with his clothes rent, and earth upon his head: and so it was, when he came to David, that he fell to the earth, and did obeisance. And David said unto him, From whence comest thou? And he said unto him, Out of the camp of Israel am I escaped. And David said unto him, How went the matter? I pray thee, tell me. And he answered, That the people are fled from the battle, and many of the people also are fallen and dead; and Saul and Jonathan his son are dead also.
On the Third Day the Old Order is Finished and replaced by the New Order.
In “Third Day” the “Old Order” of “Church as Usual” will be replaced with the Government of God!
The Marriage Feast
John 2:1
“And the third day there was a marriage …”
This is what we call “Typology”. God shows us heavenly things through earthly things. So, here we are seeing the First Miracle of Jesus… in typology we are seeing the First Miracle of the Third Day… The Bride of Christ being joined to her Lord!
The Bride is Ready
Esther 5:1 - 3
“Now it came to pass on the third day, that Esther put on her royal apparel, and stood in the inner court of the king’s house, over against the king’s house: and the king sat upon his royal throne in the royal house, over against the gate of the house. And it was so, when the king saw Esther the queen standing in the court, that she obtained favor in his sight: and the king held out to Esther the golden scepter that was in his hand. So Esther drew near, and touched the top of the scepter. Then said the king unto her, What do you desire, queen Esther? And what is thy request?”
Revelation 19:7 (KJV)
“Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honor to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.”
Like Queen Esther who went in to the King on the Third Day and obtained Favor to receive whatever she desired, The Bride will have made herself ready and will go before King Jesus and receive what she is asking for! Thy Kingdom Come on earth as it is in Heaven!
Only Mature Sons go forward in the Third Day
Genesis 22:4-5 (KJV)
Then on the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw the place afar off. And Abraham said unto his young men, Abide ye here with the ass; and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you.
Abraham saw the place far off on the third day and left the servants and the donkey he brought behind while he and his son Isaac went forward. The implication here is that immature believers and old wineskins will not cross over.
The Lord is going to bring the Church into the Third Day but only those who are mature will go forward to rule and reign with Him.
We enter the Promised Land on the Third Day
Joshua 1:10-11 (NLT2)
Joshua then commanded the officers of Israel “Go through the camp and tell the people to get their provisions ready. In three days you will cross the Jordan River and take possession of the land the LORD your God is giving you.”
The Lord will come down
Exodus 19:11 (KJV)
And be ready against the third day: for the third day the LORD will come down in the sight of all the people upon mount Sinai.
In the Third Day The Lord is going to come down to His Church in the sight of all people!
The Church will be Healed
2 Kings 20:5 (KJV)
Turn again, and tell Hezekiah the captain of my people, Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will heal thee: on the third day thou shalt go up unto the house of the LORD.
Hezekiah was “sick unto death” but when he repented the Lord said He would heal him on the third day.
It seems like the Church is also sick unto death—worldly, divided, lukewarm—but when she truly repents and turns back to her first love, the word for the Third Day remains: ‘I will heal you; on the third day you shall go up to the house of the Lord.’
When the Church truly repents of being worldly The Lord will raise it up and heal it in the Third Day.
The World will be Amazed!
Luke 2:46-49 (NKJV)
Now so it was that after three days they found Him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers, both listening to them and asking them questions. 47 And all who heard Him were astonished at His understanding and answers. 48 So when they saw Him, they were amazed; and His mother said to Him, “Son, why have You done this to us? Look, Your father and I have sought You anxiously.” 49 And He said to them, “Why did you seek Me? Did you not know that I must be about My Father’s business?”
In the Third Day the world will be astonished as the Church is doing “The Father’s Business”!
God’s Wisdom Revealed
Ephesians 3:10
He did this so that now, through the church, the wisdom of God in all its variety might be made known to the principalities and powers in the heavens.
Even those in the heavens will be amazed at the Church as it enters the Third Day walking in The Order of Melchizedek!
It must happen on the Third Day!
Matthew 16:21 (KJV)
From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day.
Jesus had to be raised on the Third Day and the Sons of God will rise on the Third Day too!
It will be in the Third Day that the Church and the world will see “The Manifestation of The Sons of God”. They will do exploits!
Getting Free of Worldly Ways
Acts 27:19 (KJV)
“And the third day we cast out with our own hands the tackling of the ship.”
In the Third Day the Church will throw out its natural ways and trust in God alone!
So, it is imperative that those who are pressing into the High Calling of God must become fully Mature so they can enter into the “Full Priesthood”.
The Sacrifice of Praise will Release the Glory of the Lord and The Manifest Presence of The Lord will be in the midst of the Church.
We can no longer settle for just nice music and good singing. No, We must enter the realm of True Worship. When we do that, we shall be changed to be like Him.
The Transformation of the Church
2 Corinthians 3:18 (ESV)
“And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.”
The Third Day is not just coming—it is about to dawn upon us. The question is not really ‘When will these things take place?’ but are you going to be like Paul and say; “Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. 13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, 14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:12–14 (KJV)
Therefore, everyone pressing into the high calling of God must come to full maturity now. The fullness of New Testament Priesthood is open to you and immediately after it, the realm of kingship. The Sacrifice of Praise in true Spirit-led worship will release the glory. His manifest presence will dwell in our midst again, and we will be changed from glory to glory into His very image. The Third Day is not just coming — it is dawning. The only question left is this: Will you lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has laid hold of you?
